The Score asks: which series are you most looking forward to next year?
It’s been a rough few weeks for the British TV industry, with the BBC cancelling the entire season of its Top Gear programme due to poor ratings.
Now, a new wave of series are arriving, including the hugely popular comedy series Leet Speak Translators, which is a collaboration between BBC Studios and the British radio station LeetTalk, and is now available on Netflix.
The series was announced as part of a deal that will see Leet Talk and BBC Studios produce new series for BBC One, and the BBC has confirmed that LeetSpeak will be included in the next season of Top Gear, due out in 2020.
As well as the Top Gear series, the BBC will also be returning to the popular series of the same name, which debuted in 2014.
As well the BBC’s own series, BBC One will also produce a new series of The Apprentice, in which contestants will be tasked with trying to find a job, and will feature a new host.
The BBC is also set to return to the hit BBC Two series The Voice, which will be produced by BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio 2.
However, there are plenty of other new series coming to the UK this year, with BBC One’s Top Gear coming back in 2017 as well as a new drama series from BBC2 called Black Country, and a new comedy series from Radio 1 called My Brother is a Detective.
Top Gear, the show that inspired the BBC series, was created by Andy Wilman and Peter Mayhew.
The series followed the lives of the motoring enthusiasts from a variety of different countries, and was produced in a series of 12 episodes.
A new BBC series of Leetspeak, which follows a new language spoken by LeetChatters in the UK, is due to premiere in 2020, and Leettalk is also planning to produce a show based on the show.
My Brother is the Detective, from BBC1, will also premiere in the summer of 2020.
BBC One will be returning for a fourth series of Top Shop next year, and there will also reportedly be a new show from BBC Two called The Good Wife, due to air in 2019.
LeetTalk is also working on a new television series based on The Simpsons, and has also been planning a new adaptation of the hit British sitcom The Office.
And there’s the Leet Chat Series, which sees the Leets and their chatbots try to help each other out in a variety-based chat show.
There are also new series set to premiere from ITV, including a new sitcom called The Love Boat, from ITV1, and another from ITV2 called The Nightly Show.
